What: Crab Feed, Auction & Dancing Fundraiser
Where: San Leandro Boys & Girls Club, 401 Marina Blvd., San Leandro, CA
THANK YOU for helping support Castro Valley youth sports by joining us for a great time at this crab feed. We raised more than $11,000 (net) through all your great efforts and support! Now you need to encourage your favorite Castro Valley sports program(s) to submit a "Grant Request" prior to July 31, 2013 to be considered as a possible recipient for funds from the CVSF fundraising efforts.
The CVSF recently presented checks totaling $10,187 to local sports programs including CVHS, Canyon and Creekside Middle Schools, and several non-profit sports organizations. Most of this money for the grants was raised from the CVSF Hall of Fame Banquet in April 2012 after which the grant requests were submitted to the CVSF. Coaches and sports organization officials receiving grants are (front row, from left) Helder Simao, CV Little League; Suzi Mills, Canyon and Creekside tennis coach; Sue Smith, CV Soccer Club; Brian Berry, CVHS swimming and diving coach; Steve Lambert, CV Independent Sports League; Darrel Lavin, CVHS girls and boys golf coach. In back row are a few of the CVSF Board Members Ted Riche, Charlotte Lusschen, Kevin Maas, Adam Korbas, Karl Pacheco, Gerri Burruel and Jim Burruel. Other recipients not shown include CVHS volleyball, football, baseball, boys wrestling and girls basketball.
Thank you for coming by to see us at our booth at the Castro Valley Eden Area Fall Festival. We appreciate your support and questions!
Willow Park Event Center in Castro Valley was the location of the 2nd CVSF Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony. Nearly 300 sports enthusiasts filled the event center to hear the great stories and share in the laughter and celebration of the athletes and their accomplishments. The HOF plaque can be viewed at the Castro Valley Library through the month of June after which it will be moved to the Kenneth C. Aitken Senior & Community Center on Redwood Road. All CVSF Events support Castro Valley youth sports, and we appreciate all your support for this great cause. For further donations please see the "Donate" tab on this website and use PayPal to donate online.
